According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average person now changes jobs an estimated 12 times during their career. And, in the last few years, the US has averaged around 21-22 million layoffs a year. That means at some point most of us will be looking for new work and that search could be quite stressful and intense.

That’s why it’s important to consider the psychology of the job search. We’d be wise to prepare ourselves for the natural emotions and reactions we’ll face when our time to look for new work comes.
