
The Vice President of Product Quality Excellence is responsible for developing and implementing quality strategies to ensure the delivery of safe, consistent, and high-quality consumer products. This executive leader will oversee product quality assurance and control processes across the product lifecycle—from concept and design to manufacturing, distribution, and post-market surveillance. The VP will ensure regulatory compliance, enhance customer satisfaction, and support business growth through robust quality systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Define and lead the company’s quality vision, strategy, and operational plans aligned with overall business objectives.
- Partner with cross-functional leadership (Product Development, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Regulatory, Marketing, etc.) to embed quality in every stage of the product lifecycle.
- Quality Systems & Compliance:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of quality management systems (QMS) in line with ISO standards, FDA regulations, and global compliance requirements.
- Ensure audit readiness and manage third-party and regulatory inspections.
- Product Quality Oversight:
- Lead product testing protocols, specifications, and acceptance criteria for raw materials, in-process components, and finished goods.
- Monitor product performance data and consumer feedback to identify trends and drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Risk Management:
- Proactively assess and mitigate quality and safety risks across the supply chain.
- Lead quality crisis management efforts, including product recalls and major non-conformances.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing quality team across multiple sites.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Life Sciences, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive quality management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role in the consumer goods industry.
- Deep knowledge of quality standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 9001, GMP, FDA, CPSC).
- Strong leadership, communication, and change management skills.
- Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and manage cross-functional initiatives.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience in global manufacturing and multi-region compliance environments.
- Certifications such as Six Sigma, ASQ CQE/CQM, or ISO Lead Auditor.
- Background in sustainability and ethical sourcing practices related to product quality.
