Funds Transfer (FT) is responsible for processing client and firm asset-servicing money movement and ensuring timely settlement. Operating in a 24-hour environment, the team handles instructions from clients around the world and across every market our client serves, including Payment Processing, Product Processing, Check, ACH and SWIFT management, Nostro Bank management, and Client Inquiry Response.

The Global Head of Funds Transfer is a senior leader with end-to-end accountability for the Funds Transfer division and its sub-units within the Operations Line of Business, operating across multiple disciplines, processes, and locations in a 24-hour global environment. Leading through department and section managers, this leader sets division priorities and strategy, drives disciplined execution, and ensures timely, accurate client money movement and settlement across all supported markets. The role oversees operating practices, controls, and performance management routines; advances continuous improvement and technology enablement; and represents the division in industry and market change initiatives such as SWIFT.

This leader is accountable for identifying, managing, and remediating complex high-risk, high-exposure issues with appropriate escalation, and for partnering with peers and stakeholders across Treasury, Compliance, Systems, Transfer Agency, Alternatives, and Custody Product, among other lines of business. In partnership with department heads, the Global Head of Funds Transfer develops and manages the division’s budget and business plan and maintains strong client relationships, serving as a credible thought leader who influences outcomes with clients, risk, legal, industry partners, and vendors through deep expertise and effective risk stewardship.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Productivity / Operations Management

  • Oversees the full scope of cross-functional reconciliation products with internal and external counterparties, including risk oversight.
  • Ensures the smooth, effective operation of the department, including proper product delivery, escalation and resolution of high-exposure items, and the proper balance of cost, control, and client service.
  • Operates in a highly global environment supporting international markets, with business presence distributed across multiple geographies and third-party outsource providers.

Control / Business Planning

  • Develops, maintains, and achieves an integrated business plan for the department, focusing on policy implementation and strategy development for assigned areas.
  • Aligns organizational structure, systems priorities, management reporting, job descriptions, and budget establishment in support of business goals and overall strategy.

People Management

  • Develops staff members through recruiting, training, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Develops qualified successors and partners with Human Resources on recruiting, hiring, and orientation.
  • Ensures the management team is aligned with division strategy, goals, and objectives, with the information and tools needed to progress.

Process Improvement

  • Analyzes complex issues and creates new processes, systems, or products/services across multiple functions or disciplines.
  • Fosters a culture of results-oriented, continuous process improvement, including setting and achieving stretch goals, challenging existing processes and practices, and staying current on new technologies and their implications for the department.

Client Service / Management

  • Builds strong partner relationships with other divisions, Risk, Client Service teams, Systems, Controllers, Treasury, and Infomediary (Investment Operations).
  • Conducts client visits, presentations, walkthroughs, and other sales and client-retention activities.
  • Builds and fosters effective, productive relationships with peers across business lines.
  • Identifies opportunities to expand client relationships and enhance the client experience, and provides solutions that improve client straight-through processing.

Product Development

  • Ensures the standard suite of products remains competitive, strategic, and well defined.
  • Identifies market trends and assesses the firm’s capabilities to meet market requirements.

  • Ability to coordinate initiatives across multiple offices.

COMPENSATION

Total rewards include base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. Base salary ranges are specific to the indicated location and may vary elsewhere based on cost of living, labor market, and candidate skill, experience, and qualifications.
